Gen5 Door Speakers

Does any body know how to take of the speakers in the door panel? Also, what size are the speakers for the door panel and the ones in the back?

Once you get in the door, go ahead and unscrew the speaker.. then just pull it off. It feels like its glued on, but its just something to prevent ratteling and just happens to over time turn to something like glue.

Check my sig website, i changed my front speakers

The door can stay on the car.

You need to take out all the screws and fasteners on the door trim panel. Then start
pulling the panel to undo all the clips and lift upwards.

Where is the tweeter in the door? If it's inside of the door mirror, and there are no visible fasteners, the panel is just clipped in. Just pull on it and it should come off.

But for Gen5, the tweeter is in the dash I thought.

The door speakers are 6.5"... and the back are 6x9.... But i dont recommend put 6x9 in the back if u have subs.... i reccomend 5.5"... with that 6x9 adapter. All of my speakers are made from Arc Audio... GOOD ISH! FYI... Installing the rear speakers SUCK!!!!! U gotta remove the rear seats...

For the tweeters in a Gen 5, I recomend that you take of the side panel, that runs from dash to roof (this will make it ALOT easier to take out the tweeter cover, which pops out.

You could probably place some 3.5" speakers there, but i would not recommend tweeters from component speakers...

When i was doing my speakers I played around with the tweeter position and thats one of the places i put it on. I came to the conclusion that the closer the tweeters are to the mid range speaker the better it sounds. So i placed them next to my door handles facing me.

As for the factory "tweeter" they are just small speakers, I unplugged mine b/c everytime i turned up the radio those speakers would distort and ruin the sound quality. I might, in the future, put in some 3.5" speakers but i want some that will match the SQ I already have going on, you could prevent some distortion by adding bass blockers, but it all depends on what you like to your sound to sound like.

Hope this Helps...Super.. I said check my site b/c there is a description of how to take off the door.
