4th Generation Removing the glove box (need help)

I got a Haynes manual for our 99' LE and it says 1999 and newer Camrys have an air cabin filter that cleans the air when you turn on the A/C or heater. Since the car we got was bought used, I've been wanting to see what condition the cabin filter is in. For example, I don't even know if it's even been changed/cleaned (I don't even know what it looks like).

So I've been looking at the "manual" and all they say is to "remove the glove box." OK then, all they need to tell me is how. I've been stuck for a couple months because of this.

I think I got the gist of what I'm supposed to do. Am I supposed to take out the three screws at the top of the glovebox and the one at the bottom-left? I did that and nothing seemed to get loose enough to be removable.

All they say is "1999 and later models are equipped with an air filter in the blower housing that cleans the air before it enters the passenger's compartment." So they lead me to believe it has one all this time? Wow. They should have at least told me what models don't have one before I did a whole bunch of stuff to the car. And no, it isn't written where one section is for Camrys, one section for Avalons etc.

Thanks for your help
