I'm not sure, but it definately looks aftermarket to me. It's blocking one of the black vents, so I'm pretty sure that it's not factory.
What kind of wires are attached to it? Any labeling at all on it? if you find a model number or something on it, google it or search on yahoo or similar search engine. You may find out what it is pretty easily. Good Luck!
you can try to find an amp that will fit those brakects, but as far as using factory wires, dependind on how much of an upgrade you are doing, using the factory wires will not be enough and could be a potential fire hazard.
if that is the case then let me recommend something that is cheap and will defenetly give you what you want;
1. Speaker level inputs or otherwise known as Hi level inputs
2. 4 channel for each speaker. (If you have tweeters, don't amp them just put on some bass blockers and you will be set)
Sample Amp (This one will defenetly make your speaker bump, but the sound it puts out is only as good as what goes into it, your radio) http://www.cardomain.com/item/POWA6004HP
But if you are not too serious i would suggest just changeing the factory radio & amp and replace it with a good aftermarket radio. http://www.cardomain.com/item/PIODEH1700
