Agree WD40 doesn't do jack! How would you get the thick lubes, (white grease) to penatrate the hinge? what just rub it on it. Thanks for the reply

WD40 worked fine for me. Just sparyed it on the hinges and opened and closed the door constantly and the squeaking stopped. Of course everytime I open the door now it slams right back closed, unless fully open.

using this is better than wd40 as u do not have to spray it within a few weeks or so.
marine lithium grease or regular white grease will last a long time.

I have tried lithium grease, wd40, special oil, but it is true, the low frequency squeek comes back, especially if you do not use the car everday.

not to steal the topic here, but since we are talking about the door...does anyone have a clue as to how to tighten the spring mechanism that holds your door open? On my 93 if you open the door, even on level ground the door just swings back at you, the tension bar doesn't hold the door open. Is there anything that can be done to make it so the door stay open?

that's wierd, so what does the tension bar look like? does it look broken, cause i've seen mine uplose with the door off, and it's just two bars that are nutted together in the middle

maybe it needs to be pushed into the housing more, it goes into a slot on the door frame, maybe it got jarred out a little.\

EDIT: is this the part that holds the door open, cause that's that part i was talking about, and it slide back and forth into that slot on the door itself

there is a little o ring on the end of the part that sticks out of the door. ill take pics tomorrow, but make sure the little o ring isnt broken. mine was partially broken, and it would only stay open when fully pushed open, and close any other time. im assuming 3.5's are the same as gen 3s.
