Heat Shield Rattling w/ Exhaust!!!! - Toyota Nation Forum : Toyota Car and Truck Forums

Hey All-
So I got my Apex'i WS2 installed in my Gen5 the other week. When I throw the car from a drive gear to reverse after a drive long enough for the engine to be heated good, the muffler shakes and taps the exhaust heat shield, making a TERRIBLE sound! Has anyone experienced this problem? If so please HELP! I tried to stick dynamat to the contact area of the heat shield and exhaust, but u can still hear the rattle. Does anyone recommend removing the heat shield?!?!

PLEASE HELP!

This happened to my 93 XLE. My mechanic just took off the heat shield and told me not to park in tall grass.

i installed the Borla myself, i haven't had any problems with it.

Do it ONCE, Do it RIGHT!

Nice to see someone have the EXACT problem I had with my WorldSport exhaust, except mine was on a Accord. But yeah, that shop just took off the heatshield when it started rattling.
