Yeah, it's a crime, but I've decided to not mod up my camry anymore. Seems like there were rumors going around. Anyways, reason why I decided to stop is the following:
1. Need to save up around $3500 for my trip to S. Korea and Japan next Summer.
2. Need to save up around $10,000 for the MKIII Supra Turbo I want to buy (If the used car dealer still has it around that time)
3. Last but not least, I will only "mod" the camry if one of my parts gets worned or break.
Meaning, when I need to buy new tires, I'll buy rims. When I need a new air filter, I'll buy a K&N, and when I get in an accident (hopefully not) I can get the Blacked out SE headlights and Grille. Stuff like that. I won't buy stuff that I really don't need for the car if it's still working properly. Sorry guys, I've jumped off the bandwagon and got runned over and left to die.
The only mod I have on my car is the TRD Strutbar. That's about it and I still haven't installed it in.
so when your car goes to slow, does that mean youll turbo it?

Not to that extreme, if my shifter or steering wheels breaks, (for no apparent reasons) then I'm just gonna get OEM Toytoa parts. If my shocks get soft, I'm replacing them with OEM parts. I ain't gonna lower it. Period.
Just the necessities. Like when I need a new radiator, might as well get a radiator for performance. Basically what I meant in "modding" when i get a worned out or broken part, I might as well buy better ones when I repair them.
I'm in the same boat as you. It's starting to get expensive as hell and I was talking to a friend who helped me realize that i would never get anything close to making my money back if I were to sell my Gen3. I think thats why ppl gut out their cars (suspension, rims, stereo, even CIA) when they are going to trade it in. Personally, i have more time than $$$ invested (dont get me wrong I've spent a lot of $$$) and would feel raped if all I got for my car was $2K-3K. I am resolved that the camry will stay in the family for the rest of its natural life unless I want to gift it to my brother. No more real upgrades for me either....
well except the bodykit I been eyeing....
and the new paint job.....
BUT THAT'S IT!
oh yeah, dynomatting....

Ahaha... well the thing is... most people that mod Camry's... almost all of which are on TN... usually don't do it because they are trying to raise the value of the car. The value you get is the time that you put into it... all hobbies cost money... this is just one of the more expensive ones... I'm pretty sure most of us don't expect to get very much monetary return on our cars in the long run... except maybe Allen... but I doubt that he'll be selling his anyway. Haha.

Glaring blue HID bulbs are NOT classy, and don't make your car look nice, no matter what that kid in the Civic told you.
Yeah, aftermarket modding doesn't add too much to resale value. I never plan to sell my car because I'm keeping this thing alive until the frame and body are destroyed by a grenade. It's my first car and I can't ever see me selling it. I'll get other cars but she stays in the family

if u pay $10000 an MKIII turbo u might as well compare ur self to "TIMMEH" from south park , unless that thing is in imaculate shape under 80K and pushing over 400HP ur gettin jipped, we bought 3 turbo'd MKIII for 2000, 2 junkers and 1 good one with an engine about 110K rebuilt @80K and pushes about 380HP. Thers two being sold down the road from me both with under 80K one with bad body damage but great engine @ 60K for $1500, im looking to buy them for fun...
