4th Generation Constant power source near center dash?

Can anyone tell me a wire I could connect an ipod dock to that has a constant power source (whether the car is on or not) that is near my headunit? Thanks!

Splice into the wiring harness for the headunit.

One of the wires has a constant +12V.

Yeah that was the first one I had wired it to, but once I was one, neither the headunit or the ipod dock would work...

Is there enough power going through to power them both?

Absolutely.

You're adding an Ipod dock. Not a power saw

Make sure you have a clean ground.

That can be just as important as a reliable power wire

Would having the groud wire wrapped around a screw be good or should I try elsewhere?

Having it powered from the HU 12v ... it wont work, its like the ipod dock isnt there

Thats fine. As long as the screw goes into metal and is a actual ground to the car.

You sure you got it hooked up to the correct wire? Theres a lot of wires that connect to the headunit.

Have you tried hooking up the dock directly to a battery or power supply? Just to see if it works.

P.S. Cross posting =

Pioneer Ipod Dock Help Please!!!

Yeah sorry about posting in both, I was hoping to get opinions from both camry specific people and audio specific people, and I am getting different responses from both, but I will delete one

You can't.
