To make a long story short I got my 97 avalon into an accident the other day, the radiator core support was bent and so was the hood, but no frame damage. How hard would it be for me to replace the radiator support myself? Or should I just take it to a body shop.
how about the bumper?
FYI: somebody hit my rear bumper and toyota is quoting 625 to replace
depends on whether u r mechnically incline.
if you are, it should be no prob if u have the right tools.
get parts off ebay
the bumper was fine because i rear ended an SUV, the hood and grill hit the bumper of the SUV. It broke the grill, 1 headlight and bent the core support. Im wondering what would I have to remove to get to the core support?
Are you talkin' about the upper crossmember? If that is the case, you'd need to take that piece off of another car of your gen and weld it in place. Make sure that's the only thing damaged too as far as engine components.

no, im talking about the radiator support, the thing the hood latch is attached to, the headlights and radiator as well as a few other things attach to it.

Thanks in advance,

I hit a deal and I had the radiator bar bent, needed a new bumper cover and innards, new headlight housing, new hood, new fender, door skin adjustment and new headlight/marker light and it only cost me $1800 (all painted and faded in and nice). So what you did will be a lot less money. I'd get a shop to order one and put it in tho. trying to bent it out yourself or install it. It isn't a lot of work but its just easier

May be eaiser but there is a chance that people don't have the money to get it fixed and would like to do it themselves. It gives you a chance to learn things about your car and the more you know the less you have to spend your money throwing your money away at a shop. Now if you can't do it yourself then yes let the shop do it. Did not mean to step on your toes
