Help! Trouble Starting 99 Camry

I'm having trouble starting my 99 Camry when the engine is cold.

The engine will start up, then die right away unless I press the accelerator.

After it warms up a bit, it runs fine.

Anyone know what might be the problem?

Thanks

Sounds like a problem with the IAC (idle air control) vavle. The IAC gets clogged with oil overtime and prevents the car from idling up on cold starts.

Its a common problem on the 5S-FE.

You can try cleaning it out with carb cleaner / throttle body cleaner and that will usually solve the problem.
