4th Generation bigger brakes

I got 16inch aftermarket Enkeis. I want to install bigger brakes, anyone know where I can get bigger brembo blanks and do I need to change the calipers too for the bigger disks? Also what size and stuff like that? I'm a total noobie at this. 97 V6 Camry.

cant fit much else, need at least 17" to get some decent room.

typical option woul dbe to use supra twin turbo DISCS with your stock calipers or Lexus IS calipers

but you just remember that you need to make an adapter.

so:

$200-300 for ann adapter
$200 for discs
$no fkn idea how much calipers cost

if you want 'bigger brakes' erm... WHY?!?!?!?!

if you want better braking power/feel

start by:
bleeding all 4 brake lines
replacing pads with some hi performance street pads
get new discs (plain blank bremo discs are cheap)
replace rubber lines with steel ones...

but remember it comes down to your tyres to actaully STOP the car

Well, what's the word with stainless steel brake lines failing all of a sudden? I remember people arguing that they didn't allow you to inspect the inner hose so where a regular brake hose clearly shows any leaks, the steel lines don't. When they fail, they fail bad. Something to do with dirt being caught by the line's steel and it would cause the debris to rub against the inner brake hose. Also, I did see something about redoing the steel lines every two years to prevent this very problem. Anyone got any insight to this?

I never heard of dirt or debris causing stainless steel brake lines to fail, but I have heard some horror stories about the stainless steel lines snapping because of shotty installation. My advice is to take it to the a trustworthy shop if youre having doubts.

Here's a rotora big brake kit for $1775 shipped http://www.solaraguy.org/viewtopic.php?t=16621

This is from www.horsepowerfreaks.com $1259.10 for a 4 piston big brake upgrade is pretty decent. I heard horsepowerfreaks are good people to deal with. http://www.horsepowerfreaks.com/pric...kes/Brake_Kits

If you want the big brake look and a little added performance there is a thread on solaraguy.org http://www.solaraguy.org/viewtopic.php?t=19351 It's actually a relocation kit for your calipers allowing you to utilize supra rotors which are 13" i believe. The minimum size rim you can have is 17". The 16" stockies wont fit.

SS brake lines from Goodrich and some nice pads would do you good with the relocation kit

Actually its quite simple. It can be done in about 1 hour or so. The kit comes with the rotors also, but I dont think theyre being sold anymore. There is a tutorial on www.solaraguy.org if you need any assitance.
