Want to add color to my engine

Hello, I want to make the plastics under the hood (fuse box covers, cruise control, etc) look nice instead of just crap black. I was wondering if it would be safe to paint those things with a heat resistant paint? If doing something like this is alright, can you do it on vacuum lines and oyher various hoses. I would just like to add some eye candy under the hood.

painting plastic is fine, just light sand it and spray, do not use metallic colors, for hoses buy colored hoses

Where could I find colored hoses? I couldn't find any for the camry.

Just checked ebay. Do you have to buy lengths of hose and cut it down to size or something? There were no colored hoses for the 93 3vzfe.

edit: Oh, and what is wrong with metallic paint? Is it not very heat resistant or something?

yes you have to buy a small spool of it and cut it down.

i saw some at autozone also for the hose..

metallic paint almost always contains metal in it to make it metallic-- in other words, its conductive.
