99 Toyota Camry high/low beam Headlights

Hi, There.

I have a problem with my 99 Camry high/low beam.
I found no problem with bulbs, fuse, and wiring. So there is just switch left for the problem that I have no high/low beam headlights. No matter what I turn the nob in the switch , there is no change in headlights or no high beam.

Do I need change the whole headlight switch as it is quite expensive? Is this problem related to headlight dimmer switch? Can I just change that one?

Many thanks in advance.

Hey there! I'm going to have to say since u've checked everything to my knowledge, its more than likely the switch has broke somehow. Maybe take it out and see if there was just something loose etc. Do you turn on and off ur headlights often, if so its probably just worn out and needs to be replaced. And unfortunately it is costly. You might be able to go to a junk yard and get one, but im sure u can find a good deal on a new part.

For high beams, you need to pull the leaver towardes you or push it back to keep it constantly on; the knob on turns on/off the parking and low beams.

Hi, There,

We do not use the high beam much. I guess my kids often plays it.

Do you know how can I check and take the headlight switch out? I tried once and looks like it is quite hard to get a look inside?

Any helps greatly be appreciated.

Thanks a lot.

I do that too. But the lights are the same when I pull the lever toward me or push it back. I failed in NJ state inspection because of high/low beam headlights problem.

Best,

Then i would suggest you take your camry into a dealership to get it checked or to your local reliable mechanic to get a professional evaluation of the problem. And since in your state there is the inspection you stated, i guess you NEED to get it fixed no matter what.

Do your DRL's (daytime running lights) still work?
