3rd Generation Camry Radio Problems

Hey,
I just bought a 1993 Camry Wagon, my question is the factory radio in it is not working. It will scan through channels and turn on and off, but there is no sound. I have read through the owners manual and I think it might be the security thing on the radio. Is there any way for me to reset the code or do I need to take it to someone. I do not have the code from the previous owner and I bought it from a car dealership who did not get it.
Thanks for your help

just invest in a new radio....the stock ones are nice, but aftermarket ones can cost less than a new stock unit, and provide higher quality. i had a problem with my 91' wagon a while back, and i took it to a radio service place and ended up leaving with a new aftermarket h/u, as the cost to sit down and rumble with it was higher than a new h/u

Its not the code, the radio would be locked, its either a bad head unit, or bad amp,
