state inspection failed..need help

i got my 94 SE V6 recently and took it to get the state inspection. a few things failed but nothing major except the steering. the people who inspected the car didnt know what to make of the "problem". they simply said that there was excessive force in the steering. compared to my 95 V6 XLE it is a little stiffer but nothing un reasonable. i figured it was an SE thing. can any one help? i need to get the slip soon so i can still be able yo drive it.
thanks

I would just go to another mom-pops auto dealer. They are usually easier on you unless the car spits out some code or the fault is apparent.

nah.. not at all. they only have one officially licensed MD inspection guy... His name is... It slips my mind at the moment.. Just tell 'em you want the state inspection.. It'll be about an hour 'cuz they stay busy so I suggest gettin' a buddy to hang with you or give you a ride..

I mean, get these guys to check it. They'll tell you if your steering is that seriously bad. They'll even point out what the prob is. So, you'll know where to begin but it could just be old steering fluid you need to replace.
