2jzge

I want to get a 92 v6 camry and put a 2jzge/2jzgte engine in it. Has this been done? How much would this cost for a complete engine swap?

I beg all the newbies, please ask question that's realistic.

It's ok if you don't know about cars, but at least have some common sense.

You'll probably be spending over US $20K.

So the best swap to do would be to get a 4cyl. and do a 3sgte swap right?

He's arguing with himself with his own question.

3S-GTE/2JZ-GE engines = fast + lots of potential.

Camry = heavy + lack of aftermarkets.

Camry engine swaps = $$$$ + time.

Now a lot of people want to do Camry engine swaps because they got stuck with the car and they want to do something to make it better.

So if you haven't even got the car yet, why bother??? :-?

In fact you're the first person I heard of that "wants to buy a Camry to do engine swaps".

If you want cheap Toyota, go buy a Corolla then turbo or supercharge or do whatever. I'm sure for the same amount of cash you'll have a faster car.

I know we agreed that we will not flame noobs, but please a bit of common sense please, I beg of you.

Bishop22, listen, the 2JZ is a rwd motor thats longitudanally opposed, that means that it sits front to back not side to side. It won't fit unless you do lots of cutting. Lets say you do lots of cutting and make it fit, what tranny are you gonna use? Supra? Ok. Now you gotta convert your car to rwd. Which axle? Supra again? Ok fine. What about the suspension? Custom? Sure why not. So now you've spent upwards of 30G's on your Camry, are you happy now or would you be better off with a Supra?

Unless you have the coin to throw around and you're trying to prove a point, its unrealistic.

Sorry Zeek, just playin' with ya!
I really wouldn't be surprised if someone thought it was real though. If you've got the $$$, anything's possible.

Fear Factor ( engine swap style)

Let me tell you a story. About 3 years ago I saw a Mkiii Supra on U.S. 35 in Ohio.It was stopped at a roadside rest and it had the sound of a V8. I had a mkiii and was eager to find out about this misterious sound. Turns out the dude put a 351 with a C6 auto. I asked him why would he do such a thing. He said it blew a headgasket and he didnt know alot about the 7mgte so he put somthing in that he knew how to work on. I repeat I am not suggesting you put it in your Camry now!
