Is This Even Possible??

I was reading somewhere, but now I lost where it was. Anyway someone had a Camry and their brake system was modified. It said he could brake from 70MPH-0 in 16 feet. even sports cars at best could do around 90 feet, or so I thought. But I mean going 70mph and come to a stop in 16 feet. That does't seem possible to me. I may be wrong. I think it creates like 12 G's or something. Do you think it's possible or not??

The reality is: braking distance is greatly affected not primarily by the braking system, but the quality of the tires you have on those 4 wheels. Better disc and pads will only improve braking in terms of things such as resistance to fade which is vital especially at the tracks. But braking distance is determined by the grade of tires used, therefore better tires such as semi-sports or street performance tires WILL allow shorter braking distance compared to regular 4-seasons for example.

What you've read is just plain ridiculous and defies physics. It's only possible when like Sir Tony said "hit a damn wall"

I didn't think it was possible. It said he had a very expensive and new brake system. Electromagnetic Hyper Vaccum Vented Discs.

I think I know how it's possible:

One morning he woke up, decided on the spot he was going to defy physics and superglued velcro to his tires (you can quote me on this). Then he called up a bunch of velcro companies and asked them if they could roll out a whole ton of velcro and superglue that to a nearby parking lot (a large one, maybe Wal*Mart size.) He then started up his Camry, drove down the street defying the slow speed limit (or he probably meant 70 KM/H), and hit his brakes when he reached the velcro area. And then, right then and there, the idea stuck...

Dang I'm good.

um.....NO! that like defying the laws of physic...? anyway, it can happen but 'you', the driver, would crash right through the car, not to mention you might get hurt.
