4th Generation converting RS3000 to RS3200?

Fellow TN members,
I am just curious, can I just convert a RS3000 to a RS3200 system by switching the ECU unit? Is the wiring harness the same for RS3000 and RS3200?

I got the answer to my own question. I guess not by looking at the harness that connects the ECU.

Ya, the harnesses are different. Although, if the 3200 was available in your gen 4 or gen 4.5, you may be able to just pull the wiring harness out of a donor car and plop it into your car. They are usually very simple install and I know where to get an instructions manual to install them if you need it. I am not sure if the gen 4 has the same wiring as the gen 4.5. I know the 92-93 had different wiring than the 94-95 even though the gens were 3 (92-94) and 3.5 (95-96), kinda weird.

Thanks for the reply. I am not sure if the wiring is the same for a 1998 camry and a 2000 camry with the same body style. Just something I wanted to know out of interest.

Will you post the instruction for RS3200 for 1997 Camry here? I am thinking about installing one in my 1997 Camry. The car currently does not have any alarm system.

Thanks

Can you even install the rs3200 to your 1997? I though the wiring is different. I might be wrong though. Let us know once you install it. You can get the instruction through the faxback service. Good luck and keep us posted.

I have not purchase the RS3200 alarm yet. I was under the impression that both RS3200 and RS3000 work with 97 Camry. This appears to be not ture?

Any way, any one the fax back number mentioned in the previous post?
