Do it yourself tranny flush?

I would like to flush the tranny on my 94 Camry. I own a couple of Volvos also. I visit Brickboard.com for my Volvo info. For my Volvos I flush the tranny by disconnecting the tranny fluid cooling return line from the radiator, connect a clear plastic tubing to the radiator connection and run the hose into a bucket. I then start the engine and watch the fluid being pumped through the clear hose into the bucket. As soon as I see bubbles I turn the engine off. This is about two quarts in the bucket. I then add two quarts fresh fluid to the tranny and repeat the proceedure. I run 12 quarts through the tranny this way. I realize I'm not flushing the torque convertor but after about 1000 miles of driving I flush another case through and figure I have about 99% new fluid. Has anyone tried this on their Camry? Any thoughts about flushing my Camry this way? Negatives? Positives?

That sounds right. That's similar to what I did with my transmission. However, just by doing as you said above, I think the torque converter will be flushed also. If you have a 4 cylinder, you will also need to do a drain and refill for the differential which is right behind the transmission.

See this post: http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/t9830.html for some more details.
