Camry & Solara LoungeDiscussion area for every generation of Toyota's family car, the Toyota Camry. Lexus ES250/300 owners welcome! Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance and more.
Lets say, hypothetically, you were in the market for a 4th generation Toyota Camry of some sort. Which of these would you be more inclined to buy? Mind you the kelly blue book price is 7500 with condition "Good". Condition was chosen as "Good" due to a couple dents (not major nor creased) and a few scratches on the dash.
$5500 USD (FIRM)
$6000 USD (FIRM)
$6500 USD (OBO)
Just straight up... comments and suggestions welcomed... that's the reason for this thread.
I'm most likely going to throw it either in Wheels and Deals or Cars.com this weekend and I'm wondering which pictures I should use and what items I should throw in.
Regardless of which one is chosen, ALL FACTORY parts are INCLUDED. Keep that in mind too. So even if you were to buy the $6500 one, it would come with all the parts you'd need to make it the $5500 one and you could part out the car as to your liking.
If you were going to use cars.com, then I would go with $6000 firm for the modified version. I know you have not had luck with that on forums and the such, but cars.com will give you a much larger consumer base, and $6000 for your car is an amazing deal...hell if I needed a car, i would jump on your deal, however I already have a camry. Nevertheless, this is just my .02...
edit: btw, y not use ebay and set the reserve at 6000?

personally, I think you'll do better selling the socker and making no mention of ANY mods to the car if you take them off...people see that stuff and think....."I bet it has been driven hard"....we know that isn't the case, but you know how ignorant people think
Just my personal thing, but when i look for a new project car, I tend to try not to get a car that has some modifications made. Why? Because I'm not sure how the previous owner treated it, unless I personally know the owner.
That's just my opinion. I would probably get the bone stock version.

i was thinking the same thing. also you broaden your potential market if you leave it stock because many people dont want/need a modified car.
^ Oops, what I was saying is....You could probably get more money for it if its left "unmodified", but damn it looks good in that second picture...if you find the right person you could sell it for more with the mods on it.
part out the car, sell it on this forum, then sell the car stock.

^ My car is too far along to start taking shit off. Besides, my paint job cost $3000 alone.
