u have to pop out the top part (with the air vents) and then take out the climate controls. No scews on either just snpas/clips on them. I used a flat head to pop off the top and hten just pulled out the bottom by hand. The H/U is bolted on once u get all that off. Hope I could help.

i tried taking off the top part but the ones on the bottom is kicking my a$$ , do i have to use the flat screw driver to pry it? or do i have to take out the climate control first? and for the front speakers what size are those? Thanks again.

Gen5

You need to remove the bottom pannel first (the one with air conditioning/heat controls) Try prying from the top corners first and then at the bottom it should come out real easy. Then remove the top, pull the top off from the bottom with your hands. I have put 3 HU into my car and i have no problem. Do you have digital or analog climate controls?

The top comes off easily but the buttom part still having problem with it... Don't know where to pry it... Don't want my panel to get chipped when prying it so any suggestions? I have the dial/analog climate control.

The First time i took the panels off they were really tough to take off cause the clips were brand new. Dont be afraid of using a little force to pry it out. But it should come right out. And it is weird that you can get the top panel off without the bottom one coming out first.. The top panel has a lip going along the bottom of it that locks into the bottom control panel
