3rd Generation amp bypass

Hey,
i got a 92 camry xle 4 banger. I recently got a used head unit to putin mines inplace of the stock one. i got the new one checked and the speakers checked and they both work great. the only problem is that no sound comes out of the speaker when the head units hooked up. i was told that i would need to get the stock amp bypassed for it to work. i got the schose or whatever wiring kit but i wanted to know how can i bypass the stock amp my self. thanks for tha help.

Gen5

there are a couple of ways around this problem.

1. You can go to circuit city and buy at Adapter for $20

2. You could Run all new wires from the Head Unit to each speaker (easiest way)

3. Or on some models, i know Gen 4 camry's, if you look behind the glove box there should be a stock amp there with stock connectors, you may be able to use those connecters with the Aftermarket adapter.

I personally with my car went with #2

I think RayRay's website has some information that may be able to help. I don't have the link on this computer, unfortunately. If I find it I'll post it for you.

Edit: Here's the link I was talking about. Also, SEARCH is your friend

All the circuit city adapter does is put RCAs on the "speaker wire" wires. but if you don't know what your doing, that metra harness is great.

A bought a cheap wiring harness from Advance Auto Parts and it by-passed the amp no prob. It took me more time to take apart the radio trim then it did to hook up the harness and have everything working.
