4th Generation My transmission is pissing me off

ok from a cold start into reverse is no problem, but when the car is warm and i switch into reverse i not only feel it jerk i hear a thunp noise from the engine bay, i dont what it is or how to stop it. If anyone had the same problem please tell how to fix it, hopefully its not a mount or anything.

if it were a mount, you'd hear the sound all the time, not just when the engine was cold. you may want to inspect your mounts though just to be safe. on a far note, it could have to do with line pressure. being that when the trans fluid is cold, you get a good amount of line pressure, more so than say when its hot. now, when its cold, you may be getting thicker fluid through the trans and it may be the right amount of pressure. however when the fluid is warm, it is thinner and you are not getting enough pressure. and when it finally goes into gear, its a little starved of fluid and causes the trans to rock a tad and when that hapens, it may move your engine and trans onthe mounts. that could be a suggestion.

is it normal to change the mounts at 97k. And if it is the mount does it make sense to change one?

Rubber expands when cold, shrinks when hot.

Below point of freezing it expands, example mechanics freeze rear main seals so they fit over the crank easier.

lemme clear that up a bit. when cold, rubber is more harder, thus making it less flexible.
when rubber is hot, it is more soft and more flexible, hence letting it bend more freely and easily. hence the expand/shrink feeling...
