I dont think that the ECU cannot be "reset"

i think The ECU uses EEPROM chips with software built on them, that cannot be erased. My Guess (and i dont know ECU's) Is that its Firmware, and even with the power reset it there is no way to "Reset the ECU" because the code instructions on the chip are permanant. and i dont know if u can re-program it or what.

Please dont point out that i dont know what im talking about I dont know cars well, i only know the electrical end of things. I went to school for 4 years for electronics. Go on and ask me how to repair a Rear Projection TV...or a PS2...lol

But my opinion is that the ECU cannot be reset at all.

well, people generally reset by either taking a fuse out or...just by taking one of the battery cables off and letting the car sit for a bit.

it's used ususally when there's a new mod done to the car.

But the bad part is the computer adapts and ususally returns the car back to what it was before ---what it thinks is the optimun i guess..

haha..hey modifier....how to you get the color back into a 10 year old cathode sony 27 inch...all i see is purple ...the picture's fine....just color

when did this problem occur with the TV...If its recent, make sure that the TV isnt too close to speakers. Some old TV's never recover from this, you may need a degouse coil.

What did the TV do when this symptom started?

When I put my intake on my '01 5SFE the car was jumping revs... 500-1500-500-1500 etc.

I unplugged the negative battery terminal for 10 minutes or so then reconnected it. I started the car up and let it idle for a second. It started to do it again so I gave it a little gas... it has never done it again.
