i currently own a 91 mr2 & although i can easily go with the turbo swap.... i sure would love to have a v6 (97+) in my mr2 sometime in the future. now i want to keep my car a manual so... i just wanted to know how rare 5pd v6 camry's & solara's were?
if i were to come accross a good deal on an auto v6, how hard would it be to source a V6 manual trans ECU & Engine harness?
also, how hard is it to get a trd supercharger & are they were buying?
if you're talking about 1mz 5 speeds, they were never made in the Gen 3/3.5/5/5.5 body style..
in the 4th gen, they were only available on the CEs, aka base models...
CE V6s are pretty rare, and a 5 speed on top of that...well, yeah..
in solaras, however, i think they were much more common..
the 1mz's from the Solara/Camry were pretty much identical, and will bolt in each other fine, but any other 1MZ will probably require custom work (ES300/RX300/Avalon)

but wouldnt it be easier to just use the 3s-gte e153 from a mr2 since it's already a manual and has all the fittings for the frame, shift stuff is already on the right side of the tranny. blah blah blah.
so all he would need then is the 1mz with the manual harnest and ecu. it would make the swap way more easy i think.

well the tranny i know i can use from the 3s... but the reason why i'm looking for a manual v6 is because i need the ecu & wiring harness that goes to the manual v6. otherwise i think you have to go through a whole different playfield to trick the auto ecu, so that it will work with a manual tranny.
thanks

okay, well after a couple of searches, it appears that the 1mzfe trd supercharger is still available . BUT, there appears to be 5 different superchargers for the 1mzfe engine! will any of those superchargers mate up to the v6 if its going into my mr2? are there any significant differences in the 1mzfes between car models?
^ actually, the blowers should all be about identical and interchangeable with only a few differing parts- doubt the pulleys are elsewhere, though the exact mounting specifications may be slightly different between the solara/camry/sienna
and if you can find a cheap one for an auto, just pick it up and get some parts from trd to make it work for the 5spd, and vice-versa- I think the only diff is the control units
