Un-painted CF (or even painted i think) is illegal in Australia as it does not conform to ADR's. CF will splinter into shards if hit (not crumple like metal) and thus is a hazard to you and everyone else. Unless you can get it engineered to say it won't be an issue, then you will have problems with the law.
In the US it is legal i think (as they sell them and many people have them without issue). But remember, the US also allow GT wings etc...which are also illegal in Australia.

Yeah i think i'll have to inport 1. Might get a boot lid while i'm at it... nah, stratch that idea, the bonnet will do. I'll have to check on the legal issues with it though. I don't see to much of an issue, considering the fibreglass kit cars, that get around. I'll see what they say, and pass on the information to you all.
