Toyota Camry Salsa Red

I recently bought a 2005 Toyota Camry XLE (Salsa REd). I absolutely love the car but I do have some concerns about the color of my car. When I first bought it , I really loved the color but I have had the car now for about a week and already I have noticed a few small paint chips on the hood. I know that's to be expected but it just bothers me that the color chips and scratches so easily. I don't know what to do about it. Has anyone else had this problem with the Salsa Red color on their Camry? Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should do to try and prevent chips and scratches from occurring? I really want to take the best possible care of my car.

The chips are are inevitable. My red prelude was covered with them.

You can either get a leather hood cover, aftermarket or from the dealer, and that will protect the hood, or part of it at least. 3M also makes some protection film that is applied to the front end to protect against chips and scratches. I forget what this film is called though.

Be glad you didnt get a black one like me.

The touch up paint is GREAT ...IF you know how to use it.

Ask the YOTA guys at the dealership to explain the process.
