yea, gen3. still driveable, but makes noises over bumps. besides that and being visually broken, im not sure what other effects it might have, besides potentially putting more stress on the strut itself. afaik, more of a headache and another worry in the back my head than anything else.

Now forgive my ignorance, but can you replace your strut mounts w/o having to disassemble the strut assy?? Or does the spring need to be compressed and strut removed??
(Don't stress.........I do enough of that for the whole world.......LOL)
My wife had an old Geo that I aaaaalmost did myself, but chickened out at the end. It was an '89 so it still had "old school" shocks on the back and I did those myself, but then when it came to the struts, I even rented the compression tool, but after I bought the struts and read the directions, I just sat there in the garage reading for a while and decided......."Ahhh screw it".........and I took it back to Pep Boys and let 'em do it!
