2nd Generation Stiff steering wheel

Lately steering wheel's been getting stiff when making turns...fluid level is at max.

Has anyone had this problem? Any sloutions?

probably the pump. check the tension on the belt, if thats fine, the pump may be in need of replacing.

rack could be goin', maybe a problem in steering column, p/s pump going, bearing going, lots. try taking out a LITTLE fluid.

i had replaced the motor a few months ago...so new belts etc...but i can't remember if i got a ps pump with the motor, yeah i used the one i got with the motor...i think its the the steering column, i'll check it out asap. thanks guys

get the front wheels off the ground and just unlock the wheel and see if it steers easier, if it steers hard all the time, its the pump, but if only at times, its the rack

hey guys i finally solved my problem ...i had to change my rack...man it was a pain in the ass ..rusted lines...almost no room to work...i finally got it done after about 5 hrs . no pics or anyything taken..just the knowledge i gained...so feel free to ask questions..

nice to hear u got it fixed.

Man I got the same darn prob. on my gen 4 cam. The steertins stiff and everytime i steer to the right side, it squeals from the right side.

No squealing on the left turning but still stiff steering. So do i need a new, steering pump, belt, rack or all of the above???

I need to go to da mechanic today but I don't want them to BS me and say I need all this stuff done. It's harder to get hustled by mechanics if know what is "going' on".
