Ok, I have a few questions about toyota, and the camry. What i'm planning to do is increase the price of my cam by adding stuff that it doesn't have(leather, power, CD, etc.).
So, Just to make it look cool at the same time, heres what I was thinking.
Premium Sound
6CD Changer
Supra/Celica seats???
Rear Spoiler
New Wheels
Basically, all toyota parts. Anyway, can you guys give me any info on this? much thanks!
I doubt you would be able to get back more than 20% of what you put into modding the car with OEM parts.
I believe I was told that if you bought a new Camry part by part, it'd run your tab up to $80k or so, but as a package from the dealer, it's obviously much less. That's why a lot of people part out their mods when they sell a car.

mabye new wheels would add to the value, if the old ones were crap. but otherwise people are not really looking for these kinda things when buying a used car, theyd rather have a low milage car that looks like its been taken care of and not driven hard with someone cranking the system the entire time.
On the other hand id be happy to sell you my premium sound front speakers.

well, i'm going to try and find good deals on ebay and such, and also, my friends dad and uncle both work at toyota, so i get a nice discount. (And if anything brakes, i get it fixed for free.)
But anyway, Who makes the Camry's Premium sound?
And would Supra or Celica seats fit, and if they are power, would they work?

my 98 camry xle had the premium sound speakers by Harmon-Motive which i think is basically harmon kardon....
Off the top of my head, I can't think of one I've seen that fits with ZERO fitment issues. A nice setup is the IS300 rims but the offset is..... 50(Not sure though..) and so.. yeah.. spacers for a 50 on a car that's 40 (Gen3), doesn't sound like something I wanna do. Other popular wheels are Supra, MR2 (i like the 4 bolt rims off the MR2 Spyder), what else? That's all that comes to my mind. Meanwhile, what Gen Cam do you have?
For every dollar you put into the car... you will loose at least a dollar. Cars don't increase in value by adding parts, certainly not by adding wheels and other aftermarket parts.
And the cam will not be collectible in any way shape or form... there are just too many of them.
Right on the money. Unfortunately, the Gen 3 Camry is as common as air. I'm so blown at how I never noticed them UNTIL I got a Gen 3. Anyways, if you do all that, don't look to get that money back when you sell it. You will get laughed out when you say some crazy price. Just keep her up to spec. Now, if you DON'T care about the money you'll lose (resale value wise) after these mods, then do it. Don't mod her for money, mod her for fun. If she was a old-school Ferrari GTB four cam, then we'd be talkin' a different story.
