Diagnose my cars problem, and also take a look at its old spark plugs!!!

Ok, so whenever i try to start my car (97 4cyl Camry - 5SFE) the engine vibrates furiosly as if it is going to turn off the next second, but then once i step on the gas a little bit, the rpms go up of course and then everything is dandy...

I thought it was the plugs, so i replaced them all...

here is one of the old ones

but that wasnt the problem

any ideas? thanks

What brand are those plugs? What did you change them with? Have you tried anything else? Fuel filter replacement?

Probably suggested fuel filter because it sounds like the engine isn't getting enough fuel. But then again you give it gas and it clears up so that might not be the problem.

I would suggest doing a full major tuneup replacing more than just plugs and wires. Even if that isn't the problem, it's preventative maintenance that needs to be regardless.

5s no cold start but it has a coolent temp sensor that controlls injector timing (more fuel when cold) check your temp guage if it's ok then the sensor prolly is.

fuel filter unless it's cloge with something large. change the filter for good messure, also there another mesh filter around the filter in the tank that might need to be looked at.

some people would say the bosch plugs suck personly i use them i dont care, i'm just happy it has more than one ground.

tune the car up, clean the tb, and run some injector cleaner you should be good as new.

also check your tranny kick down cable.

if you need to know about any of that stuff search for it.
