4th Generation Twin Turboing the Camry 1mz-fe

as Difficult as it sounds.. what would make it possible.. i know a Hole lot of hell.. but when it comes to price.. .. basically the question.. ( without the cost of the turbo.. ) how much wuold it cost to make it hold a 17 and a 20 lb boost turbos.. and if at ALL NOT possible.. i think it is though.. how much would the setup of a 20 psi turbo starting at roughtly 2,700 rpm... (thats more of a do they make it question ).. Thx guys.

these arent really just OUT there questions.. ive just asked a LOT of peeps.. and no one knows the answer... this is crap i really wanna do to my camry..
and yes i know the stock engine cant hold the kinda boost.. im prepaird for all that crap allready.. so plz just try to as simply as possible answer the question thanx

well my friend is doing it to his camry, just for the custom piping its about $2,000aud or even more. then you got the turbo $700aud, Intercooler $300aud, labour cost, manifold,etc.... $2,000-$whatever you want it to be.

so twin turbo should cost at least $5k

20psi would come with some major upgrades to the engine.

new rods, forged pistions, stand alone ecu, injectors, fuel pump, full exhaust, cams, turbo stuff ....................... ect ...

besides the turbo the cost should be about 5k making it ready for the turbo.

pistons alone would be over 1k trust me i looked.

rods would have to be milled down 22r rods or really custom. and 22r rods are about 500+ (looked as well for my 22r)

you would need custom regrinds of stock cams few hundred more ........

also porting and polishing ..... few hundred more most shops hate to work on a toyota fe head by how cramp the design is.

here the law in things like this ......... if you have to ask then you cant afford it.

That's me... CRAZY
But yeah i believe it can be done, with a heap of work. As far as 20 PSI, it's not out of the question at all, i'm aiming for atleast 30PSI, but i'm rebuilding another engine. The main difference between you and i is i'm doing it to a 3VZ-FE.

But your in the right place to find out how it's done. Very helpful people here. You won't need to go anywhere else. There are a number of members with single turbo 1MZ and supercharged models etc.

I'M LOOKING FORWARD TO STARTING IT

30PSI! Thats CRAAZZY!

What are you planning to do to the engine to handle that sort of power, let alone the car to get it to the ground!

I only want to build it to run 30PSI, because i want it to be able to handle anything i throw at it. It'll be driven daily, but only running between 7-14 PSI, but it would be good to turn up at a dyno day, and blow everyone's mind with a high Hp dyno run. I would also like to aim for the fastest camry in the country , then i'll go for the fastest camry in the world .

Yeah, thats sort of what I wanted to do with mine, minus the turbo. Just have it "capable" of holding a heap more power, but actually run it at a lower power, therefore, it'll be bloody strong!!!

Go hard son!

I am not sure that a engine built for 20 PSI would hardly even run at 7PSI. Do they even make a turbo that cranks out that much boost?

Gary

Ouch.. That hurt..

Even though a Turbo boosts more PSI than a Supercharger, I'm more of a Supercharger fan..
