Ive read a lot of threads about this and it seems that it may be normal... I just want to confirm. Ive noticed this past week that my car doesnt want to shift into overdrive when the car isnt up to opperating temp. Eeven if I press the button off then on, the car will not shift into overdrive for the first little bit of the drive (until the car is up to temp.) is this normal? The fluid level is good, Im going to be doing a flush and replacing the transmission pan gasket within the next couple months.

yup....pretty normal for a camry, mums sienna does the same thing....they just like to be warm that is all
This is normal. The electronically controlled transmissions keep the car out of OD until a certain temperature is reached. Since the car can not go into OD until this point, the engine revs a bit higher and hence warms up a bit faster. This slightly increases fuel mileage for the average driver.
All normal for any automatic transmission in a Toyota. It even says it in the owners manual. One of the many reasons they tell you to read that when you buy a car.

No, no totally abnormal. Give me your address and I will pick the car up for free, no charge to you!
YES, it is normal. The computer is deciding whats good for your car.
Yes the overdrive does not come on until 3rd gear when cold. But i nitice that mine only activates until 3rd whether it cold or hot Is that normal for me to?
Alright, I feel stupid asking this. But if you are driving your car hard, what would happen if you shut o/d off? Again, I know very little about transmissions and feel like an idiot for asking such a simple question.(atleast simple for you guys)
Mine does not even shift into 3rd easily till it is warmed up. I once floored it with PWR on to get into traffic when it was cold and it would not go over 4,500RPM's. I do not recall my old Camry doing it though.....
