One of college roommates whent to have his oil changed yesterday and when they were checking everything over they noticed that he a rats nest or something similar in is air filter box . The car is always parked outside and my roommate never really messes around his camry. I'm just surpised he's never noticed. Just thought I'd let you guys know cause I thought it was funny. Any one else have something similar to this happen?
When I was working on cars I used to find them in the air boxes and also found them in the a/c and heating fan box. Used to have people come in with really bad vibration with teh blower motor on. As soon as we saw the ticket we knew waht it was. Have found several nests and even a couple of dead mice in them before. A dead mouse in the blower motor on high will jsut about shake the dash out of a car. Then when you have to take them out you might as well jsut replace the whole blower because the damn things are crushed into the blades on it. Doesnt that sound like fun.

Yep I had the same problem. rat's nest in my Camry. dash vibrated bad. Rivergate Toyota cleaned it out for me. They told me to keep it from happening again to put the car on recirculate before I turn it off and leave it that way when I'm not in the car.... I don't do it because I like to think it lets the car air out with it off.
My inlaways had a problem on their impala parked in a garage! As per toyotanation suggestions (THANK ) they got a sonic-ultrasound thingies, and thankfully everything's been clean since!
i'm lucky we don't have such little critters in los angeles. back when i had my stock air-box though, man there were a lot of insects there. things with legs i've never even seen before...still alive...
