question on a rebuild tranny - Toyota Nation Forum : Toyota Car and Truck Forums

I recently blew my tranny and I'm gettin a rebuilt one, I was wondering if I can drive the car like I used to or will I have to baby the car? the tranny rebuild, cv boots, and new motor mounts all costed me 1500$.

I can't afford anything to break on the car anymore, but babyin the car isn't going to be that great. I don't really drive hard but once in a while I like to feel torque

anyways my main question is, is there a better chance my tranny is gonna go out again? I didn't even notice anything wrong with my car, and then next thing you know the gears werent catching anymore.

you'll be fine....even a new tranny will blow on you if you abuse it ALL the time

Don't forget to change the fluid out every 30,000 miles (or once a year) and you should be fine if the rebuilder was good.
