4th Generation power window problem

I noticed for the past few weeks that my front windows make a funny noise when there going up and they go up alot slower than the back windows. Is it possible that the window motor or track may need greese or i have to faulty motors?? please advise

depends on what kind of noise, but most likely it is the regulator. I cant remember if the Gen 4 uses a cable system or if it is a gear setup. You can take the door panel off and run the winddow up and down to see if you can locate the source of the noise. If it is the regulator and it is cadle driven you will have to replace the entire assembly if it is gear driven you should be able to replace jsut the regulator I think.

Squirt a little silicone lubricant into the tracks (SPARINGLY). If the problem goes away then be happy. If it doesn't then take off the door panel and see if you can figure it out. A little grease might help on the pivot points of the regulator. I like spray cans of motorcycle chain grease. It comes out thin and then the thinning solution evaporates leaving the heavier grease.
