Remote start recomendation

Hey guys I am thinking about installing a remote starter for my camry that can also open the doors and i would like to know what brand should i get? I am planing to get one from eighther Best Buy, Circuit City or maybe Frys Electronics but Frys is in another town. What do you guys recomend and should i install it my self, i mean i can do the wiring and all the stuff but don't you have to remove the dash? thats the part i don't really want to go through. What do you guys think i should do?

I wouldn't recommend installing it yourself unless you have some deal of experience with electronics and also the ignition system of the car

one thing you don't want to mess up on is a remote starter

and I would recommend a separate shop that deals only in car electronics and also does installs- I don't trust those best buy, future shop, circuit city boys too much....

hmm.....im thinking of getting one for myself...maybe for my next birthday which is NEXT YEAR . anyway....

eBay have heaps of them up for auctions or BUY NOW. i'll probably ending up buying one from eBay. but there's just too many brand to pick. so im also confused which one to get. (the most expensive usualy the best? hahaha...)

LET THE PRO do it for you when it comes to installing alarm or remote starter

I used to work at a Circuit City road shop for awhile and i have been doing alarms/remote starts for at least 4 years.

Im gonna suggest you leave it to the pro's to install a remote start. If you have expereince with a Digital Multi meter i can give you a Data Sheet with wire colors and instruct you on what to look for. But if you make one mistake it can mean alot of trouble and money to fix.

I tried installing a remote start when i was first getting into car electronics and i didnt know what i was doing and i disengaged the airbag which caused it to explode above my head. I was lucky.

And if you are not getting the Remote start off the internet, then go with something from somewhere other than Circuit City. Their Audiovox Peices of shit break and malfunction alot. For every 5 successful Remote starts there was 1 with a problem that came from the factory.

How hard could it be? Hook up a few wires here and there and hope this doesn't happen.
Yes, have a pro do it.

ok with the remote starter.....once you're in the car and you pressed the remote starter seconds before, do you still have to turn off the engine then insert the key to start/ drive off??

http://www.12voltshop.com/proddetail...t=13&path=1,13 That is a universal transponder i found thats easy enough to install. You put a spare FAT KEY inside the box and it takes the data off the microchip and sends it to a ring that goes around the Key ingnition.

If thats not good enough for you you can pick up ones from DEI and CCity.

no all you have to do once its started is insert the key and turn it to the ON position and then drive off. But if the key is not in the Ignition then when you put your foot on the brake it will shut the car off.

yea thats what i plan on getting from best buy, but if you dont buy all the parts from them they jack up the install costs like no other

lea: once the car is on from the remote start you get in a put the car into the on position, not the start like u would usually, just the on and away you go
