Need More Gas on PZEV (in CA) Camry than the Others?

Does anyonoe have PZEV (sold in CA, or else) vehicle? I was told that PZEV vehicle consumes more gas than regular engine. Is this correct? If then, how much more?

I am considering to bring a PZEV vehicle from CA to IL. I don't think I will have any problem to drive this vehicle in Chicago. But, I just want to figure it out the possible cons/pros to bring the vehicle from CA.

Also, just off topic, though, have anyone use freight trailer to move the vehicle. If I order one in CA, I have to use a trailer to ship the vehicle to here. I don't know how fast (& how safe) I can do without any hassle/damage.

Following your post, I did some reading up on the subject of Partial Zero Emission Vehicles (PZEV) and their standards.

They achieve these standars with practically ZERO evap emissions and a better catalytic converting system.

There wasn't any mentioning on the fuel consumption of these new 31 makes/models being any worse.

As far as I could understand, since these vehicles are better managing the fuel, they theoretically should be getting the same (if not better) gas mileage as their non-PZEV counterparts.

What about horsepower? Doesn't PZEV vehicle 3-5 less horsepower than other standard ones? Is it noticeable when normal driving (I am not an agreesive driver at all)?

With added emissions, a negligible decrease in HP is a typical trade-off.

Would it be noticealbe in day-to-day driving, no.
