An idea...

Would it be possible to put the "Tiptronic" transmission from a toyota/lexus into a gen 4 cam?

This would be so cool if it were possible.

wouldn't you want it to stay in the lower gears longer when you are trying to jamm it?

Eh... switching to tip is going to cost you a lot of money... you're going to need to get custom panels made for the shifter, since those kind of panels aren't made for the Camry. Also, you're going to need to change your tranny most likely, since ours weren't made to have the tiptronic. And lastly, having tip isn't going to let you get up to 4th that much faster... the optimal time to shift gears is past 5500 and before redline... tiptronic trannies have a rev sensor that automatically shifts up at a certain rpm... there will be SOME gain, but i can tell you now that you'll still be mad at "how long" it takes to get up to 4th. The basis behind having a tiptronic is just to have the stick feel, but not having to mess with the clutch or worrying about stalling.

Glaring blue HID bulbs are NOT classy, and don't make your car look nice, no matter what that kid in the Civic told you.

Oh its absolutely possible. Switch out the tranny, and get some panels made for the shifter, and you're in business. It MIGHT take some ECU tweaking as well, but yeah, its for sure possible. I mean, if its possible to go from auto to stick, and back, why not go to tip? But yeah, like I said, only extra thing might be some ECU tweaking..

Personally, I wouldn't waste my money though. If I was going to do a major project like that, I'd just change it to the OE 5-speed stick, and have a clutch installed.

see, i was thinking about doing the stick thing. But there are days when i just feel like driving with the auto working itsself, then there are days when i wish i had a manual.

My dads FX35 has a tip, and I love the fact that you can go almost like a stick on days when you feel like driving more agressavly. And with the six speed auto coming out on the next camry, and in the new IS....
