4th Generation I'm I Using Right Setup For Wheels / Tires...???

Hi everyone..

Here's the thing.. A couple of months after I bought my wheels and tires, I had to change my CV Joints.. This was a couple of months ago..

Now the car started making the same noise it made before I changed the CV Joints...

I'm rolling on League 17x7.0 wheels (LG-167) and Falken 235/45 tires..

League offers 2 different setups for that speciffic model of wheel (LG-167)..

Size: 17x7.0, both the same.
Offset: 20 or 35 (not sure which one is mine..)
X-Factor: 55 or 32 (not sure either..)

Is this too much for my car..??

To heavy..??

I'm I missing something I should know or should've done..??

Is there something extra I should've installed..??

Thanks for the help..

Is there vibration or just noise?

The 32 and 35mm offsets should be alright. If you had the 20mm offset you probably wouldn't be able to get the lug nuts on and the 55mm offset would probably rub the struts.

your wheels shouldn't make any difference to your cv joints in that way....

where did you get your cv joints done?

the only comment that I have to make is that those tires are wayyyy too wide for those rims....if you do any super aggressive driving, there's a chance they may roll off the rim...

My CV Joints are not the original ones made by Toyota.. They're aftermarket CV Joints but they're made in Japan... The job was not done by the dealer, was done by another workshop, but they work great... So, don't think the problem is them..

What do you mean with roll of the rim..?? And what tires should I be using..??

Exclamation

It is hard to find tires rolling of the rims, but 235/45/17 tires is not the right size for 7.0" rims, but for 7.5"-8.0". It is calculated this way.... 10mm = 1cm and around 3cm will make 1inch. For instance, your rim size is 7.0", then take 10mm x 3cm x 7.0inches you will get 210mm, which the minimum tire size for a 7" rim. Tires size for 7" rim should not be below 210mm and should not exceed a +15mm range. So you might use 215mm, because there is no 210mm, and 225mm will be ok. Well, you could use 235mm, though it might sound dangerous, but it is ok(if you don't speed too much or driving agressively).

So.. Not the right tires...

So, when the time to change the tires come, what tires should I buy..??

225/45.. ?? 225/40.. ??

If I use 225/40, will that lower my car a bit more..??

try 215/45 or 215/50 (i always suggest to run a slightly smaller tyre then rim if ya runnin glow profile tyres -- but thats me 225 is a tad too wide anyway.)

yes a smaller sidewall will lowe ryour car more, but also increase the gap between teh tyre and wheel arch.
