Installing fuel pressure regulator

Well I am prepping my engine for my turbo project and I came to the fuel pressure regulator. I have finally decided to just go with the aeromotive 13109 Regulator since a friend recommended it and it seems to be working fine on Nates car. What is the easiest way to hook the regulator in with the stock fuel lines? adapter after the fuel filter to 6 AN ? then do I need an adapter on the fuel rail? What about fuel return? Can I just run a line from the fuel filter to the regulator then another line from the reg to the fuel rail and put a FP gauge in the gauge port and mount the whole assembly to the firewall?

You only have one fuel line, which is the feed to the filter then onto the fuel rail. Theres no return line since you have a gen 4. Gen 4s have a returnless fuel system. Your FPR is in the tank.

Leave the hose going from the fuel filter to the fuel rail. Don't adapt into it. It wouldn't work anyways, since you need to regulate the pressure after the fuel rail. In other words between the FPR and tank, or the return back to the tank.

You got 2 options for the fuel rail:

1. Drill and tap. Use a NPT to AN fitting.

2. Drill a hole and weld on a fitting.

Run a hose from the fitting above to your FPR (aeromotive). Use stainless steel braided hose with the proper hose ends.

Then run a hose from the other side of the FPR back to the tank.

Theres a 1/8" NPT plug on the FPR. Remove the plug and you can screw in a fuel pressure gauge (mechanical) or a sender for an electronic fuel pressure gauge. As long as the gauge or the sender has 1/8" NPT threads it'll work.

Fuel senders for Autometer gauges use 1/8" NPT.

If you had a gen 3, this would be easier since gen 3s have a return fuel system.

Thanks for all the info. That sucks though I was hoping I already had a return fuel system. Do you tap a fitting into the fuel tank for the return line? then just disable the stock FPR?

Yes.

You want the return at the top of the tank.
