oil leak

I have read the post in this category by searching "oil Leaks" but unfornately have not found any info on my particular leak. I have a 92' camry 4 banger that leaks near the oil filter. It is a small leak and I was wondering if there was a seal somewhere in there that needs replacing. the leak is on the freont of the engine below the exhaust manifold it seems to be coming from the filter mount but i'm not sure. Has anyone had this problem?

The leak is coming from seals on the oil cooler. Its that round silver thing with 2 hoses coming off of it. The oil filter sits on top of it.

Theres a rubber seal and a washer if I remember correctly. You can get both pieces at a Toyota dealership.

To replace the seals:

1. Remove oil filter.

2. In the middle of the oil cooler is a threaded piece of metal. The oil filter screws onto it. You need to remove this piece by using a breaker bar + long extension + 30mm socket (I believe its 30mm, but I forget).

3. Remove the bolt (10mm) attaching the oil cooler to the block.

4. Rotate the oil cooler and you'll see a seal on the bottom (where the cooler meets the block) and one underneath the metal piece (oil filter union) you removed in step #2.

You might be able to get both seals elsewhere. A Toyota dealership will have them for sure, if not they can order it for you.

If you goto a dealership and they don't know what your talking about, have them look it up in their computer (EPC (electronic parts catalog)).
