Lug Nuts

I have a 1998 Toyota Camry LE that came with factory steel wheels. I bought factory alloy rims that came on a 1998 Toyota Camry for really cheap.

14x5-1/2, alloy

I used the lug nuts that came with my original steel wheels because I didn't know they were different. When I just had my brakes replace a guy said that I don't have the right lug nuts for these wheels.

I check with a local rim shop and they said I have to go to Toyota to get them.

I checked with toyota and here are the prices $3.74 each for front & $4.84 for the back. Why the prices are different I don't know.

Does anybody know of a place where I can get cheap Toyota Lug Nuts or can somebody suggest an alternative.

Thanks

How are the lugs different or incorrect? Is it the wrong seat? If you can find out what is wrong with them or what the correct type is, you can get any type of lugs as long as the thread and seat are correct.

The lug nuts I have on there now I think are what you call acorn style. They are rounded somewhat at the end. I think I just need flat lug nuts with a washer possibly. It just seems weird that a local dealer that customizes in rims & tires would tell me that I have to get them from a Toyota Dealer and no other ones would work.

I found these on the internet that list the dimensions. I'm not sure if it's right or not.

Does anyone know if I could get these from any autoparts dealer like Oreilly's or somewhere else.

Yeah waht you posted the link for is what you need. I have never bought lug nuts like that from an Oreilly's or Autozone or anything else like that so I am not sure if you can get them there or not. I would assume you could though. You may even try calling up like tire rack or some place similar to see if they can help you out on the price. You may also try a used hubcap and wheel store in your area. I know there are a couple of them here in the Nashville area. alot of times they will have take-offs and things like that. Get your phone book out and see what you can find in there.

I have a a couple of sets of 'CAMRY' lugs that i'm not using - some are with wheel locks and some without. Hit me your email add' so i know where to send pics (i'm guessing $20 for a set+s&h; or $45 for a set w/ locks+key +s&H).

Ebay. Normally you can get a set for $38 plus shipping. OR go to Advance Auto, it is $ 1.28 per piece, just specify Toyota Lugs for AL wheels.

They are called the washer/flat type lug nuts. Mistsubishi uses the identical lugs, too.

Good luck.

I think the mechanic was right about the wrong lug nuts. It might be possible that you will have issues with the two different metals in contact with each other....Corrosion or something. Just a though.
