Lowered Springs LOOKS FUNNY

In the back driver's side my car seems to sit noticabley lower than the other side. I dont know what to make of it. I have Tokico Blues and Springtech all around. I was getting quite a bit of rub on that side so I decided to roll the fenders. I am still getting horrible rub on the lower side whenever i have passengers or put a lot of groceries in the trunk. The I just found out the the rub is coming from the bolt that holds to back fender to the body. The same bolt on the other side isnt anywhere close to the tire which tipped me off that one side is lower than the other. The spring and strut setup is less than a year old so I dont know what to think. Is it the spring? Is it the strut? Cant tell. I bounced the car up and down by hand near the trunk I didnt get much recoil so I think the struts are fine. Any similar experiences?

BUMP

I thnk its a spring problem because springs control the height (right?). Anyone know about defective springs?

Pictures of lowered Camry.... is it off?

I am still concerned about my suspension setup. Below I took pictures of both sides at about the same angle. I notice a considerable difference as the driver's side rear tire seems to really sit inside the wheel well as opposed to the passenger's side. I called SuspensionMax the shop where I got my springtech springs from and they told me that I will have to take the spring off and ship it to them so they can test it. If its defective they will send me another one. Then I told them that was crazy and that this is my only car. He then said I should drop a $75 core charge for one spring and ship the other one out and ship it back. If its defective they will refund the core. Since I paid less than $100 for all 4 springs a $75 core sounds crazy.

So tell me what you guys think.

The passenger's side rear tire setup looks fine to me and what a 1.8" drop should look like.
The driver's side as you can see sits below the side wall.

This is my concern.

Never mind the scratch there. Early morning rub with the side of my house.

Let me know what you think. I dont get anymore rubs since I rolled the fender so Im not worried about that but the damn thing is just annoying everytime i look at it. I also thought it might because I had two different brands of tires on the back. I have Eagle F1 all around but the driver's side is a spare. I really noticed the sag after I put the spare on. Didnt really notice it with the F1.

springs have sagged or struts have blown.

if the tyres ar the sme size, it dont make a difference.

Does anyone know how I can check to see whether its my strut or spring that is causing one side of my car to sag?

sounds like your springs to me. i dont go on the forums as much anymore but i have never heard of springtech springs. this might be a good time to switch to a different brand. i have ebachs for almost 4 years now and never had a problem. i just changed out my rear struts last week but that is due to excessive loads i used to carry around town. but it should be a one finger to no finger wheel gap in the rear. if they can give you another by paying a deposit then why not? but i would change out to a different brand that is used more to prevent this from happening again imho.
hope that helps

you could jack the car up and measure length of unloaded springs and also check for any oil leaks on the shock/struts. could it also be alignment and camber issues ?

diggler - I am not sure jacking the car and measuring will tell me anything since (if it were the springs) the springs wouldnt be under pressure. I was thinking of getting under there with a measuring tape and measuring a common point to the ground on both sides. I am pretty sure that its a sagging spring issue. Seems to be a problem with all but the highest quality springs. Also, I didnt know struts where used fluids. I haven't seen anything on the pavement but I will look to be sure.

VU - i wish i had the $$$$ to get the eibachs but I have been modding my cam on a budget since day one. Never knew springs would sag in the back. If I had I would have spent the#$$$ like I did on the struts.

I am going to order the replacement spring and install it next week. I have a heavy subwoofer box in the back. I read that they cause premature sagging. Is that true?

I would only replace the springs as a pair otherwise you could end up with the same thing down the road.

Good advice. I asked the guy at suspensionmax.com and he said I needed to only replace one. Lying son of a b*tch. I would switch out to a better quality spring but I dont think they sell them by the pair for the camry.
