hi all, i'm new to the Toyota fourms. well i was browsing around this site and i came across a pic of a camry that was photoshopped to have dual exhuast. well what i wanted to know is can this be done? and at what cost? i don't want to add any preformance mufflers because i'm really not into the buzzing noise. (no offense to anyone). but i'd rather just have the dual application for looks. i was thinking of getting a system off of an old lexus Ls 400 and just adding chrome tips, Can that work on a camry? thank you guys for any info. and here is the picture i was speaking of.
If you go to a muffler shop, they can split the pipe for you and add a muffler and tips for a lot less than it would cost you to take an LS400 system and throw it in. Besides, if you went for that approach, it'd be even more cost-effective to just get a custom cat-back done.

Glaring blue HID bulbs are NOT classy, and don't make your car look nice, no matter what that kid in the Civic told you.
Ok, major noob question: I hear cat-back on TN almost daily and would like to know what it is. Is it from the catalytic converter on back or something?
Thats right. What a cat-back system is... is basically, they cut off the stock pipe right behind your catalytic converter, and re-pipe everything on back to the muffler tip. Generally, its just for sound... you really don't get any gains unless you get headers and a high-flow cat.

yeah it can be done, several people have done it to a gen3, altho i remember hearing about there being some issue with the spare tire in the way or something...
hahaha...that photochip is SOOOO old...it's a photochop that silver streak made of his car like, 3 or 4 years ago....
but more on topic...as everyvody else says, it'll be cheaper to get a shop to do a y-pipe and then mount two mufflers.....and buzzing sound? depends on your car, 4banger or v6, and also the mufflers that you pick
and the cat-back usually refers to also changing the cat to a high flow cat...otherwise, it won't make a difference if you get a "cat-back" from behind the cat if you're still running a stock cat

not in my experience, any catback ive looked into for any car has always been muffler and piping up to the cat.....no new high flow cat.....maybe its just me tho

as for the exhaust question....these camry's are easy to work on/make custom exhaust systems for....i made mine with a high flow cat, 10' 2.5" stainless steel piping, 2 mandrell bends, a muffler, 1 flange, and a few hangers...piece it together appropriately and take it to a shop to have it welded....of course u wanted a Y in the end so ud need a y-collector, 2 extra mandrell bends, a heat shield, and an xtra muffler unless u made it an inline muffler and welded it before the y split
depending how sturdy u make it and how high the torque load is on the Y then u may not even need hangers for the other side u added....or u could always rig up sumthin

what do you mean by split the pipes??? and would i even need to add another muffler on the other side? but i think i would just because it might look weird to have a muffler on one side and not on the other.
go to a shop, get them to split your pipe, then get two resonators to use instead of mufflers, that way, you don't have to worry about spacing with the spare tire well, and you don't have to buy two mufflers
that should cost you less than 200 depending on what kinds of resonators you use
