After some persuasion from a couple of friends, the thought of mod'n my 1998 Camry XLE V6 seems rather tempting. There's just a few idea's I had questions about if anyone can help with reccomendations of where and what brands are good, and what to stay away from.
1) Air Intake - Do I stick with a drop-in K&N Air FIlter or pop in an Injen if it'll fit?
2) New front bumper or just get a good looking/not too flashy body kit? Front bumper currently needs to be replaced eventually.
3) Clear front and rear corner lights? I've seen some being sold on Ebay from Makotoautotrends
I plan on getting a OEM Factory spoiler, eventually a full body repaint to black, tint the windows, TRD exhaust, foglights, a nice Kenwood KVT-717DVD system, and other little knick knack stuff.

Thanks if anyone can give me some feedback.
1) Intake isn't really worth it unless you get it really really cheap. Its like 150-200 bucks for like 15 hp MAX.
2) If your bumper is already ruined, you may want to just get a kit. The car would look somewhat tacky w/ an aftermarket front with OEM everything else.
3) I recommend clear corners. They aren't too ricey and look good in my opinion. I have a set and I like them.
4) You could get the OEM factory spoiler or possibly the TRD kit spoiler. That spoiler I think depends on everyones tastes. Some love it, and some hate it.
5) Tinting the windows sounds sweet. Get a dark color which you can still see out of.
6) Exaust - I guess it's pretty cool. But TRD stuff is really expensive. Unless your just looking for the brand, its probably not the best choice. I suggest going someone else but don't get the HUGE COFFEE CAN spoilers. THOSE SUCK!
7) Suspension - I would recommend doing some suspension work too. It will make your car feel more sporty and fun to drive. You could just start small w/ like a Strut tower bar (around 30 bucks on ebay) or a sway bar (100-200). Then you could get bigger and get springs and struts (which is like 250+(350-450)).

1) yeah, I like the quiet sound of my car.
2) I might just stick with an OEM front still, or a not-so-flashy body kit
3) yeah I like the clear corners for the front and rear, and they seem affordable. Would I have to buy amber bulbs for the turn signals tho?
4) yeah I was planning on getting the OEM factory spoiler, but haven't seen what the TRD kit spoiler looks like.
5) definitely need to see through the windows still, but yeah won't get something too dark
6) I like the TRD bolt-on since its not too loud, but is has just the right deep sound. Not really into the thought of replacing the whole exhaust system or having an aftermarket welded on.
7) If I go with doing anything with the susepnsion, it won't be for awhile. The thought of a coilover set is in the back of my mind tho.
What about spark plugs and plug wires? any reccomendations on those?
Also if anyone knows of any really good online shops or local shops in the OC area, please lemme know.
I don't think I'd get Altezza's. I was just thinking of some rear clear corner's like these.
I've been looking at those for awhile. They don't look right on your car though, cause the clear blinkers don't match the clear reverse lights on your inner tails. Check on cardomain.com, there are a few gen 4's that have these.

Really? They seemed to match to me. Guess I just need to look at them some more. Got any recommendations on other styles maybe if there are any? Or should just keep it the way it is? I did like the idea of having the rear lights just red and clear.
Sorry I don't know whose cam this is to give credit to :
See how the clear tails are more clear/white while the reverse lights are a more grayish color. This bugs me. I wish they had just made them to match.

ahhhh I see whatcha mean. Yeah that looks bleh to me too. Hmmm...too bad I haven't seen anyone selling clear reverse lights. Guess I'll just stick with the stock corners for now. As for the front clear corners, I found this one and this one. One looks a little different then the other, but that could just be my eyes messing with me. Do clear corners come with anything to keep moisture out or anything and do I need amber colored bulbs for the turn signals. Just curious cause I'm a noob with this stuff.
The clear corners are completely sealed except for where your bulb goes in. I wouldn't worry about moisture. you will need amber bulbs by law. However they do have chrome bulbs that light up amber. This is nice cause you don't really ever see the bulbs until they light up. I put in LEDs instead of filament bulbs.

That looks nice! I like how ya can't see the bulb. Where did ya pick up the chrome bulbs? and do they come as LED's or is there a variety. Sorry for all the questions, just getting hyped up a bit cause I'm tempted on ordering the clear corners today along with some other things.

1) An Intake also makes a weird noise. I've never heard it, but I hear it's also one of those you love it or hate it. Some people find it annoying as hell.
2) I suggest you get a TRD body kit for non flashy. Its a nice subtle kit, and It's my favorite. And thats coming from me, who really doesn't like kits at all.
3) Your car should have stock amber bulbs. So that isn't a problem. The only thing is, you may find it kind of ugly where you have a huge clear piece and a yellowish bulb. I don't really mind, but you might want to change it out, which increases the illegality.
4) I'll get a pic soon.
5) Well, The darker is better. But don't sacrifice looks for safety.
6) I agree. They are nice exausts but very pricey.
7) Well, as I said a Strut tower bar is an inexpensive suspension mod. You can't feel it regularly but you can definetely feel it when you take hard turns. It tightens up your suspension by connected your two struts together. Coilovers are nice, but costly.
The info on the plugs may be in the Camry FAQ. Or simply search. Just get a nice set or one of the ones that ignite at a high temperature. Don't believe the label that you'll "gain hp" but I believe since they ignite hotter, you'll have less carbon buildup.
