Starter to Battery Cable

Im trying to replace my starter cable so that I can add a new battery terminal. Yet i cant seem to get to it. Ive done a search and looked at phis sticky. I can see that it goes into something that looks like a giant dustcap. But with the cruise control and airbox, i cant seem to get to it. Which sucks. Any ideas???? Also is replacing it with 8 gauge ok? if i can ever get to it. Cheers

well, the nut is under the giant dustcap...
and there's a reason why when you replace the starter, you're supposed to remove the airbox and the cruise control unit....

and if you want, do 8gauge- that's the stock size...but if you're going to be doing it, you may as well change it to 4gauge

^ it's the only way.....unless you have a cai/short ram and your stock airbox is already removed....then...maybe...maybe....you can slide it out....but maybe not too...

long story short, you just about have to.....


if you have a haynes manual, you'll see that it's a maximum of 10nuts/bolts all together...piece of cake

i do have the haynes. I guess i could do it. Ill just have to more prepared then i was last time
