Want to get rid of the stock Camry amplifer

Sorry if this is a cross post but I want to know something. My after market unit gives me 60Wx4 which Im guessing is better than the factory amplfier (located under the passenger's seat) is giving me. Is disconnecting this unit as simple as cutting and splicing the wires back together? Is there anything I need to watch out for?

From what i understand if you are using a wiring harness (so you do not have to cut the factory wires to connect to your new stereo) it already bypasses the factory amp

Does your gen 3 have the prewired bypass harnesses like the gen 4 does in this thread found in the Ultimate Audio Sticky in the A/V Forum?

Actually I handled it this morning. It was pretty simple and speakers sound a lot better now. It was 4 pair of wires from the head unit connected to 4 pairs of wires to all 4 speakers. It was a matter of figuring out which was which. This was made simple because the headunit allowed me to fade to different speakers.
thanks

Man,

My stock camry Cd + cassette system had loud deep bass and good sound quality.

After the bestbuy guys Installed my JVC Cd deck, all bass is gone. I only can do high trebel. I went back to them and complained.

The guy said that he did everything correctly and that the reason i'm not getting the same deep bass is because the stock camry stereo system was hooked up to a stock camry amplifier and that the ne JVC wires cannot plug into the camry amp so no more bass.

Is what the guy telling me true or can i get my bass back?

You should have an internal amp on your new HU. Have you checked the control settings?

hes on crack. you paid them to install it, you didnt pay them to slot it in and leave it hanging. go back and rip another one.
