Unhappy malfunction indicator

My 1998 Camry's malfunction light comes on and I found the temp. under the hood is very high.
What's the problem? The fuel cap is tight, so I think something wrong under the hood.

Thanks!!!

Take it to Autozone. They will read the codes for you for free. Then report back here with the code and someone should be able to offer you some suggestions.

The temperture under the hood is normally pretty high. I doubt that has anything to do with the malfunction indicator light (MIL).

Make sure you buy something while you are in Autozone. Think of it this way, you'd probably have to spend 80 bucks or so to have a shop diagnose your problem, and they are doing it for free. Give them a little thanks by buying something, anything. Even if it's only like 5 bucks, it shows appreciation.

That way, they'll continue this awesome service. And no, I don't work for Autozone.

They dont diagnose the problem, they just tell you the code number. The one by me has a bad habit of guessing when it comes to diagnosis. Just depends on the people that work there i suppose, but we can help you with the diagnosis part once you have the number.
