Exclamation automatic tranaxil differential fill plug

I have been trying to remove the fill plug on the differential now for two days. All I've managed to do is Round it off. I've managed to get a small pipe wrench on it and i'm starting to think if I put any more pressure on it, the wrench is going to break! Its the first time anyone has tryed to remove it since the factory installed it and theres only 30,000 miles on the car. And yes I'm turning it the right way,(unless its a left handed thread). Should I heat it? I thought about putting a torch to it but thought I would wait for some advice. Can anyone help? .......Thanks In Advance

Yep, it is on there...and in my case for good (well, sort of). I did a tranny and diff drain and fill awhile back and had to finally destroy the bolt to get it off. I used craftsman's BOLT-OUT kit to do it. My car was out of commission for a few days while the part came in.

Since you have already rounded it I would:

1. Leave it in place for now
2. Order one from that Yota dealership ($6 ). Get it 1st thing.
3. Get the BOLT-OUT kit or something similar with that size in it.
4. Then commence with the removal.

That should take care of you and save you a lot of money. I never view buying tools as an expense because you will ALWAYS use it later down the road.

BULL

Edit: I just pulled my receipt and the part numbers for my 00 Camry LE, 4cy were:
90341-18038 for the plug
90430-18008 for the gasket

I'd try an online toyota parts dealer. Probably could save some money there....although with shipping I dunno. I use www.1sttoyotaparts.com

I did the same on my Camry, but I only rounded two corners. I couldn't get the wrench on there, so I used a tool for removing rounded bolts.

See this tool for removing damaged bolts.

The 11/16 size should fit on there and then use a 3/8" ratchet to drive it.

I ordered my new plug from Longo Toyota and they did not charge me any shipping. I was only charged the price of the parts plus tax.

Thanks for the advice. I did buy a new $6.00 plug from the dealer before I took a hammer and chisel to the old one. I managed to get a small file in there and put a good enough groove on the plug for the chisel. Just another 1 hour job that took 2 days! Now I need a new set of wheels for my creeper! Thanks again
