3S-GTE aren't that expensive. In fact they are very common. With money, anyone can pull off the conversion.

You could use the transmission that you have in there already, but it probably wouldn't hold up to the 70 extra horsepower for too long. You could use a transmission out of a similar year Celica, though I'm not sure if they're much stronger.

You can use an E153, it has been proven to be usable in the VZV21 platform so the SV21 should be able to use it. The E153 is the Camry/Solara 5 speed tranny and also was used in the MR2 turbo in a modified form (shift linkage on the opposite side).

No way your gunna find a clip for less then a $1,000.

Your looking at least $1,500 depending on what engine comes with the clip.

225 hp 3S-GTE is around $1,500 for a clip.

245 hp 3S-GTE is around $3,000 for a clip.

Theres also a 260 hp version used in the Caldina.

The specs are for 3S-GTE's imported from Japan. US version makes less power.

Clip = MR2 Turbo or Celica All Trac / GT4.

The Caldina is a car made by Toyota in Japan.

You'll NEVER pull this project off with less than $1k. You need the motor, wiring harness, ecu, possibly a tranny, axles, and many other parts.

If you have a shop do the work, you probably won't get out the door for less than $5k. These are not Honda swaps.
